A Father's Covering for His Son

“Whenever a round of banqueting was over, Job would send for his children and purify them, rising early in the morning to offer burnt offerings for all of them. For Job thought: Perhaps my children have sinned, having cursed God in their hearts. This was Job's regular practice.” (Job 1:5) A father covers and protects his children, whether they are right or wrong.

A father who covers his son;

· Invests all that God has given him to help his son be the man God has created him to be

· Sees the greatness God has placed in him and nurtures it with courage, compassion, and strength

· Provides for his son a positive role model to pattern his life after

· Teaches his son to stand strong against the negative influences that try to keep him from reaching his goals and fulfilling his purpose in life

· Understands how valuable HIS presence is in his son’s daily life

· Teaches his son to pray and praise God in and out of every situation

· Leads by example and instills in him good moral character, integrity, and honorable work ethic

· Teaches him to consult God about every decision he must make in life

· Uses himself as an example of how to be a leader, protector, and provider for his family

· Parents him from a place of wholeness

· Teaches him no matter how many mistakes you make in life, you can begin again

The following should come from a father;

· A son’s first words affirming who he is and what he represents

· A son’s first picture of honor, discipline, and self-respect

· A son’s first job teaching him work ethics, perseverance, and determination

· A son’s first lesson in integrity and good moral character

WHY?

Because if he has a dream and he believe in himself, when temptations come and he yields, he will remember what his father taught him. Those lessons and moments with his father, will give him the strength to get back up, forgive himself, and begin again!

Father’s don’t leave your sons uncovered
